Dream Team Summit

Tomorrow night we have our annual summit planned. Every year we get the whole team who serve in our Children's department @ MKCC together for a meal, give out awards and look back at the year just gone. It has now become traditionally an event that everyone looks forward to. So as I write this I'm looking out of my window at the snow falling down!!! All day I've been wondering do i need to cancel, will I have to cancel....I hope not. I'm so looking forward to a night of fun, laughter and inspiration with all our incredible volunteers.

Let's hope it happens and I can post everything that happened tomorrow!

Sundays Rock

Today i woke early as usual to get ready for a full day at church. I taught in all 3 services, so was eager to get going and get organised.
We were a little low on numbers because of the snow, nevertheless, we had a great morning. The 8.30 service was so cool, all the kids engaged in worship and really got the message!
All our volunteers turned up, even through the icy roads, which was great. And we had a huge amount of junior leaders in all the classes, which is so cool. These guys are great at getting down to play with the kids on their level! You guys are great and i really appreciate you ALL.....

check out the video below, it's the intro the series we're doing at the moment!

Monday

It's Monday and i've had a lovely day off so far...managed to get some jobs done around the house, done a bit of shopping (always good) and had a bite of lunch with Billy and his dad.

It's been a lovely weekend and yesterday was so cool in Kidz Church. Last week we moved to our temporary rooms for the duration of the refurb....and although it was successful, there were a few things I felt we needed to change for this week. So all I can say was the running of the morning was so much better...well done Bev, you're a star!

Also this week Josh, who's one of our junior leaders, taught for the first time in Champions League...totally on his own. He did a great job, i know he was nervous but the message came through...keep going Josh, God has great plans for you, I just know it.

Looking forward to the week ahead.....

Last night Breakout and kids Quest started again after having the summer off! We have a great bunch of people who serve and it was cool to touch base with them again. Because we are refurbishing the nursery wing, Kids Quest are unable to use the back of the Nursery as normal, so we've invested in some new pipe and drape and used it to make our exsisting foyer and bookshop into a new place for Kids Quest. Bev did a great job to make it work!! All the children and parents arrived to the new area and seemed to be happy with the changes...all good stuff.

Breakout was great we has 50 children attend the first night, 20 new children so it was cool to meet them and spend a little time to get to know them.

I'm so excited about our small groups, it's a great opportunity to build into the lives of the kids who attend....

Changes

I can't believe that it's September already!
Abbie started college on Monday and is enjoying every minute of it so far! Liam's been back to school for a couple of weeks and thinks that Year 10 is the best ever!....So everyone is happy.

Kids camp seems such along time ago, the kids and leaders had a blast. It was so cool to see kids from Frantic and Kidz Church attending the camp. We had such a great bunch of volunteers who were willing to invest a week of their time into the lives of the kids, thank you!

So this Sunday is going to be great....all of Kidz Church is on the move! So guys if you are serving on Sunday come prepared for change....I'm so excited because this means we are another step forward to having better facilities. Breakout and Kids Quest start again tomorrow night with a few changes to the way we would normally run these events.....so everything is changing and I think it's so cool.
Lets be flexible and willing to adapt as and when necessary!

Breakout and Kids Quest Award Ceremony

Yesterday we had a very special event for all the kids that have completed their year in Breakout or Kids Quest. Over the last few years we have always given the children their certificates in the main services on Sunday. However this year we knew that would be impossible with nearly 80 children completing the year, so the award ceremony was something new for us.
What a success, with 200 people attending, great food, and awards given out, the afternoon was just wonderful.
It was really moving for me to hear from 4 girls who have completed 4 years in breakout and now are moving into our youth programme 'Faze2'. They talked about how they had made great friendships in their small groups, the importance in creating time for Jesus everyday, and discovering His purpose for their lives.

Just great!
